What We Look For In A Good Bid
a team that will make Gender Blender fun for everyone.
- a team that will participate in the Saturday night event
- a team that puts a lot of effort into their Friday night campsite and theme
- a team that keeps ‘fair play’ and ’spirit of the game’ in mind on the field
- a team that contributes to the community through charity
- a team that is about involving lots of people (ie. big rosters are fun!)
a team that plays hard
- a team that will be competitive and raise the level of play
- past champions, national-calibre teams, regional participants, established teams
a team that is respectful of the TD, the volunteers, and other participants
- we are all volunteers – don’t give us grief and tell us what we ‘owe’ you
- obey the rules and don’t cause us problems with the community
- be a team that other teams enjoy playing and seeing, not ‘those assholes’
a team that is creative
- with some exceptions who have their ‘thing’ and do it amazingly well, don’t repeat themes
- humour, creativity and ingineuity on their bid
a team that loves ultimate and loves Gender Blender
- be ultimate fanatics
- spread the word near and far and continue to make GB the legend it has become
- ‘get’ what the sport of ultimate is about
a few other things…
- creativity and originality is great. outright bribery is not.
- get your money in on time
- read the website and don’t harass me with questions that are already answered
- get your money in on time
- if it’s not clear though, please do ask, don’t just assume and it helps me get better
- get your money in on time
- make sure your team fills out the waivers and the team submission form
- get your money in on time
So, just being a national champion won’t get you in if you have no spirit and won’t contribute to the event. Being an amazing fun team that loves to party but shirks their social obligations to the community and will be a drag for even the 37th place team to beat 15-0 won’t get you in either. We are looking for the best overall teams to come to our tourney.
